I would recommend you this blog, because you find so many underestimated issues here, which are not portrayed in media that much. For example, the content about missing women in Mexico is not emphasized enough in media. And Eliška tried to inform the society about issues related to women and how they are portrayed in media. Further, the image of women showed in media can influenced their well-being. We can see only models and their ideal, perfect bodies in the media and thus, girls then doubt about their bodies and lose confidence. So, if you are interested in the way, how women are shown in media and what impact it can have on them, you should definitely visit Eliška’s blog, because you can find many useful information here.

Visit the blog here:  https://effectsofmediaonbodyimage.blogspot.com

Lia’s blog is dealing with body image and how is that showed in the media. It is quite similar to Eliška’s topic because both are specialized on girls and women at first place. But Lia mentioned a story of a boy, Christopher Dawley, who committed a suicide due to the social media and its content. And I think, that it is very important to emphasize, that boys and men suffer too and that there is a pressure on them as well, which cannot be forgotten. Also, there are great sources for further research. Lia put here links and Instagram profiles of her favorite models, which is very interesting to look at and see their posts.

So, if you want to know more about the positive impact of social media on teenage behavior, you should definitely read this blog! His view very nicely summarizes the whole blog, where you can find the most important things about this particular issue. And of course, that this issue related with media and society is very serious matter, because many teenagers can be influenced negatively through social media. Jan Schwarz – Violence in the media of Sport

Visit the blog here: https://violencesportsvideogamesjs.blogspot.com

This blog is focused on violence of media of sport, and I think that not so many blogs are interested in this issue, although it is very important. So, I would like to highly recommend you to read this blog, because everyone should be informed about that. Maybe, it may not seem that it relates to my topic of blog at first place, but it is. I am focusing on the impact of media on children, and if children see violence in media in young age, they tend to be aggressive in the future than the children, who did not see violence in media regularly. Many young children, especially boys have heroes among athletes and if they are violent, and the society tolerate it, then the consequences can be fatal. If children see it as a normal thing, they would do it the same in order to become the same as their heroes. Also, check the sources for further research, they are very interesting!

So, if the influencers have cooperation with some fashion companies and propagate their products on social media, then the products are sold much more often that the ones, which are not shown on social media by influencers. MY VIEW

According to World Health Organization (WTO) children should spend only 1 hour and less on digital media per day. However, the statistics showed, that average pre-school child spend more than 2 hours per day on digital media.  (Poulain, 2021)  Although, it may seem, that media influence only children’s physical health because if they spend the time with media, they usually sit in front of computer or with their phone on sofa and do not move. The mental health issues are very serious as well. These problems can then occur especially in school, because the children suffer from hyperactivity, conduct problems, and inattention. Further, the overuse of media can influence children’s ability to communicate.  (Poulain, 2021)  This essay will focus on 3 main issues connected with children and media – violence in media and its impact on children, food advertisements and its impact on children’s health, and last but not least, on cyberbullying, which can have very dangerous an...

CURRENT EVENTS I

A study, done by Common Sense Media in March 2022, showed that children used media in 2021 more than ever. The usage of media is 17% higher in last two years, which is more than in the four past years together. Children between the age 8 – 12 are spending 5 hours and 33 minutes on media now, whereas before it was 4 hours and 44 minutes. And the children or rather teenagers in the age 13 – 18 spend 8 hours and 22 minutes with media, especially on their mobile phones. Of course, that it was highly influenced by the pandemic of Covid-19, but with no doubt it is terrifying. Mainly, the children of poorer families were affected by the increased use of media because they did not have more activities, which they can do.   (Moyer, 2022) Statistics show, that children spend most time on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. What impact it can have on them? Especially on Instagram and TikTok people posted only their best pictures or videos, which are usually modified with the help of variou...
